Feed the Food Chain
I received this brief during the Erasmus+ programme. We had to create a hypothetical product which would (on a small scale) contribute to helping, or limit the negative effects we humans are having on the world. I focused on the Avocado craze that has come about in recent years, and the negative effects of this, such as creating drought and putting lives in danger due to the majority of the world's Avocado's being owned by the Cartel. To combat this, I came up with the Growacado - a device which allows you to grow your own Avocado Tree (and eventually, an avocado) without doing the usual DIY steps with tooth-picks.
During this process, I realised that a similar invention has already been created. The Growacado however, is made of recyclable materials. It also comes in a box with the soil and a booklet with information about the Avocado Industry and how you can help. I also included a competitive element in this product, which challenges the consumers to grow the best Avocado Tree, as an encouragement for buyers to take part. I presented the product through these posters, which contains all of the necessary background information as well as simple directions for using the Growacado.
